Trees with this tag are of exceptional size. They are often ancient trees, and sometimes are weird trees.
India is home to what may be considered the largest trees in the world, the giant banyans, which have broad canopies that can reach two hundred meters across. There are also massive teak trees, dipterocarpus and vateria giants of the forest, fantastically stout baobabs, towering cedars and pines, and magnificently proportioned semal trees.
It’s important to remember, though, that size is not everything. The giant trees, of course, are great ambassadors from the natural world, but even the smallest tree is worthy of our respect.
