This tag was attributed to any tree that has a link to an individual human. Some trees are associated with famous people from ancient times _ such as
Siddhartha the Buddha, or the
Sikh Guru Nanak-ji; from modern history–
Jawaharlal Nehru,
Mahatma Gandhi, or
Sathya Sai Baba; or from recent days– the people who care for and study these trees.
In some cases, these trees were actually planted by these people. For others, they mark the location that person is associated with. Sometimes, these trees are planted at sites that have been dedicated to that person.
